Sports You Can Play With Your Kids

admin · April 20, 2020 · Leave a Comment

If you’re concerned that your children spend too much time glued to digital devices such as smart phones and tablets, it’s well worth getting outdoors and playing sports with your kids. To discover a few fun, family friendly sports, simply continue reading. Especially as playing sports together can be a great bonding exercise for families.

Sports You Can Play With Your Kids:

Basketball:

Most kids enjoy shooting basketball hoops and playing mini basketball games with their family. As an example you may want to play half court 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2 games. It’s even well worth installing a basketball hoop in your back yard or in-front of your garage if you have a bit of spare room. So that you’ll be able to practice your basketball shots with your kids on a daily basis.

Baseball:

Baseball is another game which you can play with your kids. If you have young kids you may want to teach them how to catch a slow ball with their own baseball mitt. So that you’ll be able to throw a ball around your back yard with your kids. If you have slightly older kids it’s a fun idea to take your kids to a local park where they’ll be able to practice hitting a baseball. If you have a large enough family you can even play proper games of baseball together.

Golf:

Preteens are old enough to take to a driving range where you’ll be able to teach your kids how to properly hit a golf ball. Without having to worry about taking your kids to a proper golf course. If you want to start teaching younger kids basic golf skills, simply take them to a mini golf course. Where they’ll be able to learn the basics of putting.

Table tennis:

It’s a great idea to set up an inexpensive table tennis set in your garage or basement. So that you’ll be able to organize family table tennis tournaments, on wet days. When you want your kids to be active but can’t take your kids outside.

Volleyball:

Another game which you play at home as a family is volleyball. As all you’ll need to get started is a volleyball net which you can set up in your yard and a volleyball. You may want to opt for a plastic volleyball if you have young children as it won’t hurt their hands. Make sure to teach your kids the basics of volleyball such as setting and spiking. Once your kids get the hang of spiking and setting you may want to invite your extended family over to play a few games of volleyball against your family.

If you’re lucky enough to have a pool at home, it’s also a fun idea to set up a volleyball net across your pool. So that you can play pool volleyball.

So if you love the idea of bonding with your kids over sport it’s well worth teaching your kids how to play volleyball, golf, table tennis, baseball and basketball. If you’re lucky your kids may even discover a passion for one of the sports which are listed above.
