Best Workouts For Sports Training:

HIIT training:

HIIT training which stands for high intensity interval training, is ideal for sports training as it is a full body workout which is designed to increase your fitness level. Better yet HIIT training has been designed to ensure that you keep your heart rate at the optimal rate to increase your current level of fitness.Lastly as HIIT training is designed to be intense, you can normally fit a HIIT session into a small space of time, such as 15 minutes.

Some examples of some of the exercises which often feature in HIIT workouts include squats, lunges, burpees, mountain climbers and planks. All of which will also increase your strength and flexibility as well as your general level of fitness. So no matter which sport you play, it’s definitely well worth incorporating HIIT Training into your workout calendar.

Yoga:

You may be surprised to discover that yoga is great workout for athletes as it’s one of the best workouts which you can use to increase your flexibility and balance. Both of which are important skills for athletes. Yoga is also a great workout to include as part of your sports training program as it can decrease your chances of developing sports related strains and injuries.

If you’re looking for an extra challenge you may want to try a hot yoga session. Which will involve practicing a yoga routine in a heated room, which is designed to help you sweat.

Sprint training:

Sprint training is essential to add to your sports training if you want to be able to increase your speed and agility. As in order to increase your acceleration and speed, it’s important to practice sprinting exercises on a weekly basis. Especially if you take part in a sport which requires great speed and acceleration such as football or soccer. Although sprint training is suitable for athletes who train for a wide variety of sports.

Jump rope:

Jump rope workouts are ideal for increasing your fitness, toning your body, increasing your strength, balance and co-ordination. Which is one of the reasons why so many boxers and professional athletes add jump rope routines to their workout plans. Alternatively, if you can’t see yourself jumping rope for 30 minutes in a row, you may want to use jumping rope as a warm up. Which you can complete before you start your workouts.

Alternatively, if you really want to burn calories, it’s a great idea to spend 10 minutes jumping rope between two short HIIT workouts. Which will help you burn several hundred calories and which will increase your current fitness level.

Swimming:

Swimming sessions are also ideal for athletes as swimming is a low impact exercise, which burns more calories than running.

So if you’re looking to add new exercises to your sports training, it’s well worth adding all of the effective exercises which are listed out above to your new sports training regime.
